Former middle-distance runner Ronnie Delany is one of Ireland's true sporting greats. As part of the legendary four-minute miler club Ronnie boasts an exceptional win rate and in this week's episode he discusses how he still learned from the few races in which he didn't place at all. Ronnie invited Jarlath into his home to discuss his world records, how racing his brother home from school eventually led him to training with Jumbo Elliot at the renowned Villanova University, how he almost missed out on the Olympics and the strategy through which he subsequently won gold.
Ronnie also discusses hiding one's aspirations, keeping elite athletic company, being so fast that he was booed at Madison Square Garden and the regrets that he has despite having had such a wonderful life.
