This week singer-songwriter Damien Dempsey joins Jarlath in a heartfelt chat about the journey which has seen him become one of Ireland's most well-respected musical talents. Damien talks about being bullied for being an extrovert, his struggle with confidence, the process of writing powerful lyrics, how he and Glen Hansard ended up having a session with Bruce Springsteen and the circumstances which led to him forming a close relationship to his now long-time producer John Reynolds.
Damien speaks frankly about his frustrations with his homeland, the sense of freedom that he experienced in New York before moving to London and how he draws hope from all the struggles in Ireland at the minute.
