Irishman In America - Midterms Countdown & Kanye’s Meltdown (Part 1)
Thursday Oct 27, 2022
Thursday Oct 27, 2022
Marion McKeone, US Correspondent for the Sunday Business Post, examines the latest events, key races and moments in the lead up to the midterms. Is the red wave going to materialise? Marion explains why it might be too close to call. Why have 12 million Americans already voted and why is voter intimidation rampant in some states. 2.3% growth in the US economy? That can't be right? Or can it. Kanye West's pattern of petulance and self-promotion backfires once and for all. Marion and Jarlath sift through the pieces and wonder why it took this long. Hear the full conversation and support the show on Patreon.com/irishmanabroad.
Jarlath announces the recording of his new standup special on January 6th of all days. You can be there. Tickets go on sale today at 10am from ticketmaster.ie

Sonia O'Sullivan reflects on the astonishing performance of Eliud Kipchoge in Berlin on Sunday. Where does this place him in the pantheon of great athletes and has anyone dominated for so long? Jarlath and Sonia then plunge into the discussion of marathon training in the final few weeks before a big race. Nursing injuries they both headed to Poolbeg Parkrun to meet the listeners. Craic was head and there's more than a few shoutouts as Sonia recounts her worst ever marathon experience in Boston (Patreon version) and what to do if you think the race you have signed up for is a bit dodgy.
